With the rapid development of Machine Learning Forecasting Systems across Europe and their increasing move toward operational use — including initiatives such as the AIFS — we aimed to strengthen engagement between evaluation experts from ECMWF and its Member and Co-operating States through dedicated meetings. The aim is to exchange experiences and discuss the various approaches used to evaluate AI-based forecasting models. This informal forum is expected to help deepen collective understanding of these systems and support their future improvement.
