EFI and SOT 2 metre temperature over Extended range
Base Time: Mon 03 Nov 2025 00 UTC T+168 Valid time: Mon 03 Nov 2025 00 UTC - Mon 10 Nov 2025 00 UTC
The Extreme Forecast Index (EFI) represented by the colour shading provides specialized forecast guidance for anomalous or extreme weather events by comparing the ensemble forecast members with the model climate for the chosen location, time of year and forecast lead time.
The Shift of Tails (SOT) index complements the EFI by providing information about how extreme an anomalous event might be. Note that the charts indicate an average of the 2m temperature over successive one-week periods.
A detailed description of the Sub-seasonal range Extreme forecast Index and Shift of Tails products can be found in ECMWF Forecast User Guide.
Forecast charts and data
We provide current forecasts, climate reanalyses and specific datasets. These are available via the web, point-to-point dissemination, data servers and broadcasting.
Researchers, WMO members, commercial users and satellite data providers can gain access to ECMWF forecast products under one of our various licence agreement types.
Serving meteorology
International collaboration is fundamental to the work of ECMWF, working with the EU and the meteorological community at large, including the World Meteorological Organization, space agencies, and scientists around the world.
Workshops and education
Education is a key element of our work at ECMWF, enabling our partners to get the most from ECMWF's services and develop an advanced understanding of forecasting.
