The ECMWF/NWP-SAF Workshop on Bias estimation and correction in data assimilation was held from 8 to 11 November 2005.
Description
The handling of biases in data assimilation is a key element in the effective use of current and future satellite observations. This requires the capability to disentangle systematic errors inherent to the instruments, radiative transfer and NWP models, and also demands a robust design to reduce their adverse effects in data assimilation schemes. This proposed workshop also forms part of the Centre's contribution to the NWP SAF activities.
