The ECMWF Annual Report 2025 is now available online and provides an overview of activities throughout the year from across the organisation, carried out with the support of our Member and Co-operating States and the wider meteorological community.

The report reviews progress made in 2025 towards the goals set out in our strategy under the pillars of ‘Science and technology’, ‘Impact’, and ‘Organisation and people’.

Key developments included modelling and data assimilation improvements for the Integrated Forecasting System; the operationalisation of the Artificial Intelligence Forecasting System (AIFS), ECMWF’s machine learning weather forecasting model; improvements in forecast skill; the opening of the full real-time data catalogue under a permissive licence; and contributions to the European Union’s Copernicus programme and Destination Earth initiative.

The year also marked ECMWF’s 50th anniversary, and the report summarises the events that helped celebrate five decades of scientific innovation, international collaboration and leadership in weather prediction.
