A Co-operation Agreement between the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) and the Slovak Republic was signed on 1 November 2007. It will enter into force on 1 January 2008.
Being a Co-operating State, Slovakia has the same access to ECMWF products as a Member State. The data will improve the overall quality of forecasts in Slovakia, allowing in particular advance warning of severe weather events.
Slovakia is ECMWF's 12th Co-operating State. The other Co-operating States are: Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Iceland, Lithuania, Montenegro, Morocco, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.
