Main tasks at ECMWF

Maintenance and development of the wind wave components of ECMWF Earth System Model (coupled atmosphere-wave-ocean system).

Research and development on the role of wind waves on the atmosphere and the oceans.

Model validation using wind and wave observations.

Support to wind wave data assimilation developments.

Role of ocean waves, which essentially means air-sea interaction, atmospheric marine boundary layer, upper ocean mixing
