AIFS forecast - AIFS Single Wave (Set XII - AIFS Single Wave)

On 12 May 2026, a new forecast stream will be produced by ECMWF's operational Artificial Intelligence Forecasting System deterministic model (AIFS Single).

The new forecast stream is for wave forecast runs, marking ECMWF's first operational data-driven wave forecasts.

  • 4 forecast runs per day (00/06/12/18)
  • 6 hourly steps to 360 (15 days)

Products will be operationally available from 12 May 2026. Prior to this date, users can access test products via ECMWF's open data platform.

From 12 May 2026, while the data will continue to be made freely available as Open data, access can also be purchased so that they can be disseminated to customers the same way as other data ECMWF produces.
