Forecast, Evaluation, Verification and Observation Monitoring

Ersagun works within the verification and observation monitoring team at ECMWF. He is responsible for all in-situ observation monitoring matters. Ersagun manages the data selection process and collaborates with the ECMWF Research Department, ECMWF member states, EUMETNET-EUCOS, and WMO on in-situ observation-related issues.

  • In-situ observation monitoring matters and tools: Quality control and operational acceptance of data into ECMWF model through IFS and LDAS data selection changes, automation tools, regular reporting feedback.
