Abstract

This document provides an annual summary of the performance of the European Space Agency (ESA) Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) brightness temperature (Tb) monitoring run routinely at the European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). The period covered is September 2024 to August 2025. Several different monitoring plots are presented, and notable features are discussed in detail. Also, potential improvements to the monitoring system are proposed.
