Technical requirements for Real-time dissemination

Server requirements

In order to set up a feed to your server we will need to get the following information for both main server and back up server (if possible).

  • host name or IP
  • protocol (ftp/sftp)
  • username and password with permission to read-write and rename
  • receiving directory

Our dissemination system is built in such a way that we push files. We need permission to rename and overwrite files we put into the receiving directory.

During the transmission, dissemination files have extension '.tmp'. If the transmission is unsuccessful for whatever reason, it is repeated. Only after the successful transmission, file gets renamed to its original name.

Firewall set up and permissions

Set up your firewall to accept FTP and/or SFTP connections from the following hosts:

  • 193.61.196.106
  • 193.61.196.107
  • 193.61.196.108
  • 193.61.196.109
  • 193.61.196.110

For servers in America, add

  • 104.36.18.139
  • 162.213.37.184

Contact details requirements

ECMWF operators monitor the transmission and they need to be able to contact your organisation in case of dissemination issue. Equally you can contact them in case of emergency Contact us --> Problem receiving real-time data.
