D-Day Reanalysis and Forecasts. ECMWF has performed a reanalysis and weather forecast for the Allied Armed Forces landing in Normandy, France on D-Day, 6 June 1944. Our reanalysis successfully predicts the weather conditions for those two days. The whole study confirms how difficult and, eventually, how accurate the original D-day weather forecasts were.
