ERA-40 Project Schedule

The assimilation of ERA-40 analysis is done in three different streams. The purpose is to assimilate first the most recent and "best" quality observation period from 1987 onwards. These analyses are urgently needed by several projects. It also gives more time to prepare for the use of the older data, with their potential problems, in stream 2. Stream 3 is assimilated last, since the reprocessing of Meteosat winds 1982 -1988 is still ongoing.
