ENACT is the acronym of the European Union-funded project entitled "ENhAnced ocean data assimilation and ClimaTe
prediction". ENACT was a 3-year project (2002-2004). Its two main objectives were:
- lmprove and extend ocean data assimilation systems, and apply them to produce global ocean analyses over a multi-decadal period
(select ocean analyses available for download).
PLEASE NOTE: that more recent ocean reanalyses are available as part of the EU_project ENSEMBLES (click here for the ENSEMBLES data).
- Quantify the benefits of the enhanced assimilation systems through retrospective seasonal and multi annual climate forecasts and through analysis of ocean behaviour in a multi-model framework
(select seasonal forecast available for download - TO BE UPDATED).
