CREXDC encoding/decoding software

ECMWF CREXDC software is used for encoding/decoding WMO FM-95 CREX code messages. As a part of software there are tools for conversion between BUFR and CREX .

Description

The FM 95 -XII CREX is standard WMO Character form for the Representation and EXchange of meteorogical and other data. It is self defining, table driven and very flexible data representation system. It is specially useful in the cases where binary representation of data is not possible due to the lack of computer handling capabilities.

CREX User's Guide and Reference Manual232KB describes the software to decode/encode CREX data and conversion between BUFR and CREX formats.

Mailing list

Subscribers to the CREXDC library mailing list will receive information from time to time about CREXDC library new releases. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the administrator.

To subscribe or unsubscribe from mailing list, please use this simple web form.

As part of the subscription process, the list software will send you an confirmation e-mail with password. You must login with your e-mail address and the password provided in order to complete the process. This is a security measure to prevent the addition of subcribers without their permission.

Available versions

Available versions of CREXDC software are 000270, 000300, 000310, 000320, 000340, 000350 000372 and 000376.

There are two possibilities for making the installation:

1. Run first build_library, then the install scripts and answer on a few questions.
2. Compile library following instractions in README file.

Latest changes

• Crex software has been changed to handle CREX Edition 2 ( changes in the Section 1 of the CREX) including conversion bufr2crex and crex2bufr
