Data Services

ECMWF Data Services encompass three main components:

1. ECMWF Archive, Realtime, Software for external organizations (see below)

and also:

2. ECMWF access to the MARS archive service for Member States
   
3. The ECMWF Data Server for free data downloads (subject to terms and conditions)

Data Services provide Archived Data and Software to external organizations under the rules agreed by ECMWF Council.

Data Archive Services

From its operational and research activities ECMWF has collected a unique set of global Numerical Weather Prediction data in its archives.

To enable this data, assembled as a result of ECMWF operations, to be accessible to as many users as possible, Data Services provide data sets or tailored retrievals from the archive, according to the rules agreed by the ECMWF Council.

This part contains pages for all the available Data Archives and Data Sets. The Data Set descriptions, the ordering instructions, and the order forms can be found below the individual Data Set web pages.

Software Services

Data Services distribute software developed by ECMWF, under the rules agreed by the ECMWF Council.This section contains pages for all the available software items. The software descriptions, the charges and the ordering instructions can be found below the individual software web pages.

The ECMWF analysis and forecasting system

This section includes a brief history and the full evolution of the ECMWF analysis and forecasting system. Some representative snapshots of specific models, during the evolution of the ECMWF analysis and forecasting system in use, are also available.
