You can search for data

This option is not yet available but it is one of our priorities.

Who can use your "On-Line Ordering" system?

Our "On-Line Ordering" system can be used by anyone.

Do I need to create an account?

Your account is created automatically, once you have completed your first selection (request). You will need to provide us with your personal details, if you decide to submit an order.

Do I need to provide any personal information?

You need to enter your personal details, only if you decide to submit an order.

What is saved by the "On-Line Ordering" system?

Your current and previous "Shopping Carts" and your "Personal Details" are always saved for future review, so you don't need to re-enter this information next time. This information is accessible only by you.

Can I select now and order another day?

Your selections are saved, so you can retrieve your saved "Shopping Carts" to review or submit your orders for up to 60 days after your original selection.. Read more

Can I change my personal details?

Your personal details are saved and the system gives you the option to change them. Read more

What is MARS?

The Meteorological Archival and Retrieval System (MARS) is the main repository of meteorological data at ECMWF. It contains terabytes of operational and research data, as well as data from special projects.

You don't need to be familiar with our Archives. The "On-Line Ordering" system will assist you to search easily in our Data Archives for the data that interests you, . Read more

Can I place an order, if I am not familiar with your "On-Line Ordering" system?

You don't need to be familiar with our "On-Line Ordering" system.This application has been designed to help you make your selections easily. The system will lead you through the necessary steps. Use the Help Department, read the information and follow the instructions at each step. If you need any further information or clarification, do not hesitate to contact us.

Can I place more than one item in my "Shopping Cart"?

You can place more than one request in your "Shopping Cart". Your "Shopping Cart" may include requests from different data sets, different periods, different parameters etc.

Can I cancel an item?

It's easy to erase an item (request) from your "Shopping Cart", provided that the order has not yet entered the handling process. Read more

What are the data charges?

For research or education purposes, this service is provided at handling cost only.Data Charges apply only to orders from non- research establishments. Read more.

What is the minimum handling charge?

Dealing with individual orders even for small amounts of data involves some technical and administrative resources. A minimum handling charge of £200 is therefore currently applied.

Our intention is eventually to develop a fully automated system which will allow us to minimize the technical and administrative resources used and consequently to waive the minimum handling charge.

How do you distribute the data ?

Your selections will be written on the media of your selection and will be sent to you by POST.
Note : We can also distribute data from our ftp server provided that the volume of the data is less than 100 MB.
