Select Data

Use Data finder to check the availability of the data that interest you. If you wish to have a costing or to place a request for data you can use our On-line costing system.

Alternatively you may also follow the steps below to find the data that interests you :

  • STEP 1 : Select a data archive
Initially you need to select an archive from our data catalogue , which includes links to all available ECMWF data archives:
    • Operational
    • ERA-15
    • ERA-40

  • STEP 2 : Select the subset that interests you
Once you have selected a data archive you need to select one of the available subsets.
E.g. the available subsets for "ERA-40" archive are:
    • Basic 2.5°
    • Full Resolution
    • Wave
    • Monthly Means

  • STEP 3 : Select the data set that interests you
Once you have selected a subset (from a particular archive) you need to select a data set.
E.g. the available data sets for the "ERA-40 Basic 2.5° " subset are:
    • Basic surface analysis
    • Basic pressure level analysis
    • Basic forecast accumulation

  • STEP 4 : Check the availability and select the data (i.e. parameters, levels, times etc.) that interest you for the specific data set that you have selected.
Each data set's web page includes the following :
    • a brief description of the data set
    • the availability of the products of the specific data set
    • the changes that have taken place in the specific data set
    • links to useful technical information (e.g. model levels definitions, GRIB tables etc.)
    • the "order forms of the data set" (pdf format)
    • the "ECMWF data ordering instructions and standard forms" (pdf format)

If you wish to have a quotation for your selections or if you wish to make an order please read our costing & ordering instructions
