First AnnoucementWorkshop on High Performance Computing in Meteorology (30 October - 3 November 2006) Every second year the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) hosts a workshop on the use of high performance computing in meteorology. The emphasis of this workshop will be on running meteorological applications at sustained teraflops performance in a production environment, and on the application specific developments required to move towards petaflops computing. Our aim is to provide a venue where
The workshop will consist of a limited number of presentations from invited speakers, plus a series of 20 minute contributions. The morning of the final day will be reserved for an open discussion session. This workshop will start on Monday 30 October at 9.30am and close on Friday 3 November at 12.00 noon. Attendance at the workshop is by invitation and will be limited to around 100 persons.
