Background
ECMWF has started a project to re-engineer its web-based services, with the aim of providing highly interactive and parameterised graphical products to forecasters who have access to the ECMWF web products. The Centre is investigating technologies that will allow the implementation of a solution that is highly available, scalable and fast.
In this context, ECMWF is organising a two day meeting in Reading on 1 and 2 February 2010 with technical experts from its Member States and Co-operating States, with the aim of reviewing the state of the art in web technologies and service oriented architectures. Participants to this meeting are invited to present their current plans, developments and achievements regarding the provision of meteorological products via the web. This meeting will be the opportunity to share experiences and establish possible synergies.
